October, 2004

Greetings,

After a great summer of outreach, we now move indoors for a season of discipleship. Each Friday night over the winter, we will have our bible discussion in the food court in the Town Center Mall on Church Street. This time of getting into God's Word and fellowshipping over a meal is open to anyone on the street who desires fellowship.

As winter approaches, we come face to face with many hurting people with great need. Every winter we give out McDonalds gift certificates to the homeless, as well as others in need. We provide groceries, and toys at Christmas to those who lack. We have in the past given out blankets, sleeping bags, warm hats and mittens, and other personal items to the homeless.

This year, we are in need again of Churches and individuals to send us McDonalds Gift Certificates, as well as AA Batteries, these two items are a tremendous blessings to the homeless. We do not need any clothing, or blankets this year, we have a lot of these already.

We also need to raise $2600.00 to help us get through the winter, this would be a tremendous blessing to us to not have to worry about finances this winter. We are a very low-budget ministry, operating at about $8000.00 a year. Our summer ministry from May - October takes most of the resources, but winter can be tough.

We are looking forward to this winter, the people we will be in contact with and the opportunity to demonstrate God's Love to those who may never have experienced His wonderful love. We are blessed with a wonderful staff of volunteers who give quite a lot of their time to this ministry and to people who live on the street or sub-standard living conditions. It is a hard ministry, victories are few sometimes, heartbreaks and frustration frequent, but richly rewarding when we see God break through a hard heart.

Your Missionary to the Streets,

Dave
