News from the Streets!

We just finished up a week of outreach with a mission team from Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Mooresboro, North Carolina.

They came 11 strong, and spent the week making contacts with people who were hanging out on the street. Evidence of God using them in a very powerful way was seen on several levels. One of the highlights was that they were able to make contact with a few of the youth that are not only homeless, but have been very aloof, and one such young man has been homeless here in Burlington for two years, and we have never even seen him. Not only did they manage to meet and talk with this kid, but he actually came to our Friday Evening meal and Bible discussion! They were able to introduce us to him, and we hope for furthur opportunities to minister to this young man will be open to us.

They also helped out in our feeding program in City Hall Park, bringing sandwiches and cold soda to the homeless that hang out in the park.

The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Mission Team is one of four we will have working with us this summer. Please be in prayer for us as we have a full summer of outreach to our streets. It is very exciting to see God work in a might way on our streets.
