2011 Winter Ministry Report

This has been a pretty bad winter, especially for ministry on the street.  The weather hindered quite a lot of what we could have done, but we still managed to do quite a bit over this three month period from December - March.  Downtown sure did look like a winter wonderland.  It would have been tempting to just stay home, but the needs of the poor are often harder in the winter than any other time of year.

This is what we were able to accomplish over the past three months:

1) Personal contacts with 55 people to share about faith In Christ and what it means to have a relationship with God.  Out of these, 6 people embarked on a journey of faith in God.

2) We gave out 76 bibles to people who did not have one.

3) We gave out 1,450 $5 gift cards to McDonald's, Quizno's and Bruegger's Bagels, to the homeless and low income families.

4) We gave out 4,929 bags of groceries to people in need.

Even though the weather has been snowy and cold, the homeless and the street people who hang out on the street are still out there, and so are we to share the Good News  of the Gospel to all who will listen.  Remember it is your support that allows us to do this.

Your Missionary to the Streets,

David Russell
